For our Sailing Event 2026, where we invite children from the Oklahoma City Boys and Girls Club out to Lake Hefner for a day to enjoy a meal and activities. This year, due to the drought, we weren't able to provide sail boats for the children to experience, but we were able to fish off the docks. The children really seemed to enjoy the opportunity to fish, some of them it was their first time. We also provided meals (hot dogs, chips, cookies, water, and Gatorade) along with painting and when it was all over, each child was allowed to take home the fishing pole they were using (minus the hooks). Hopefully next year we will be able to get the children out onto the lake. Thank you to Oklahoma City Boat Club for allowing us to use their facilities. Also, Thank you to the Oklahoma City Police and Oklahoma County Sheriff's office for being a part of the event, showing off their cruisers, and helping the children catch some fish. I believe they enjoyed the experience as everyone else did. Once it was all done, I believe we had a successful event for the children.
